KNOTS
The figure above shows the left-handed trefoil, which is the double of the unknot with framing +1 and clasp sign -1. The trefoil is 3-colourable.

I participated in the Science Research Programme in 1994. Under the programme, I was attached to Dr Wong Yan Loi from Department of Mathematics, National University of Singapore to do a project on colouring doubled knots. Our joint paper, Colouring Doubled Knots, is published in Proceedings from Science Research Programme 1994.

Abstract from Colouring Doubled Knots
In this paper, we present an elementary proof of a necessary and sufficient condition for doubled knots to be colourable as well as an algorithm to colour colourable doubled knots.

Based on this paper, we wrote another article on colouring knots which was published in the inaugural issue (Volume 22 No. 2 Mar 1995) of the 'new' Medley: a revamp of Mathematical Medley, a publication of the Singapore Mathematical Society. The article, entitled Colouring Knots, provides an elementary exposition of colourability and the result published in the earlier paper.
