Description of Sesame Seeds

These tiny seeds come in either white or black form. The seeds give a nutty flavour and crunchy texture to dishes.
They are usually toasted or fried in order to release their flavour, just prior to use, and are mainly sprinkled over the food or cakes.

The oil from sesame seeds is also widely used in Asian and especially Chinese cooking.
