Located on an island dedicated to tourism meant the Club is styled to charm and pamper golfers visiting or living in Singapore. Services include checking in your golf bags and hooking them up to buggies ready for your game. Even shower rooms come with attendents and personal tolietries. Other amenities include a Golfer's Terrace overlooking the Southern islands and a chinese restaurant for local and international cuisine. The two 18-hole championship golf courses and its clubhouse have been through some recent upgrading. The Tanjong Course first opened in 1972, was remodeled in 1993 by Max Wexler and Chris Pitman. Now, the newly landscaped golf course has some spectacular holes with gullies and many water hazards to negotiate. A round of golf takes you through an oasis of flowesr, palm trees and lotus ponds and a glimpse of the South China Sea. The second course was venue for the World Qualifying Round of the Dunhill Cup in 1988. Designed by Ronald Fream Design Group, the par 72 golf course measures close 6500 metres from the championship tees. Agaisnt a backdrop of the Singapore harbour, the course runs through fairways lined with dense jungles and well-contoured greens. At some holes, you tee off right at the edge of the sea. |
