Gods Love for Me a true account by Jaclyn Ang
She had told me her story.
Of the time she prayed to God:
"If I still fail to score after I had worked so hard, I will quit this design course."
She thought of her love for design and felt that God would not be so cruel.
She thought she would do well.
But she didnt.
And God was asking her to fulfil her vow.
Out of painful obedience, she tore away from her beloved dream to design and stepped into a strange world of bewilderment.
She reminisced the torturous year when she hopped from one temporary job to another in wait of something better.
Finally, she entered Junior College with hope renewed.
Yet, hardships awaited her as she struggled to readjust to school life.
She told me of the loneliness she felt and that she found refuge only in God.
Two years older then her peers, she couldnt really belong.
It was at such a time that I knew her.
She became my classmate but due to personality clashes, we did not get along.
I remained cold and aloof.
Still, I was touched by her simple devotion to God and her life testimony.
One day, God called her to share with me about His love for me, a tall order since I was so cynical.
Despite the fear of rejection, she obeyed.
It was then I felt the voice of God speaking.
God had touched my parched heart with love and I did the only thing I could do.
I prayed to invite Jesus into my life.
Now as I look at her, designing a room for me at my request,
I see her joy in her work, and catch a glimpse of nostalgia in her forlorn eyes.
"You know," she said as she looked at me wistfully,
"Had I continued with my design course, I might be doing this everyday now."
I started.
My heart was overwhelmed.
I realised that had she not quit her design course and come to Junior College, I might never have known Christ after all.
As I continued to watch her, I cried out in gratitude:
O Lord, what a sacrifice You asked of another
To save a wretched soul like mine!
