Fishing Adventures 2 -- Temperate Waters of Australia
I've been to Australia a couple of times and experienced GREAT surf fishing, rock fishing as well as boat fishing. One day, I hope to try the legendary Northern Territory fishing grounds.
Australian Salmon are very strong fighters which put up a good deal of acrobatics when hooked.
I went to Melbourne and experienced some wonderful surf fishing where Salmon averaging 2 kg rushed to get your bait the moment you cast it out. The Tailor, King George Whiting, and Pinkie Snapper were also in a cooperative mood. There was even a day when the fish were so thick that I finished a whole 5 kg block of Pilchards in a 3 hour catch and release session (because I had already filled up my 3 big ice-boxes the day before) where I must have punched holes in more than 30 Salmons' mouths. Incidentally, that was at a place called Eden... definitely an angler's paradise.
