Entrance tests will be
given to students who are seeking admission for the first time to a regular school in
Singapore.
There will be an application fee of $75 for the test in the two basic subjects (English
and Mathematics). For students seeking admission into classes in which
tests in other subjects are required a fee of $25 is charged for each additional subject.
An applicant may obtain a letter to apply for extension of stay in
Singapore only when the registration fee have been paid. However, if the student fails to turn up for the entrance tests on
the specified dates, all fees paid will be forfeited and the Immigration Department
informed accordingly.
A student who applies
for admission after June will be considered for admission for the
next academic year.
If the student is not
successful in the entrance test at one level, he/she may apply to take another test at a lower
level on the next available test date.
In order to be considered as having passed the entrance test, a
student must obtained an average of 50% for all the subjects taken. If
the average is between 40% and 50%, the student will be admitted to
the level at which the test is taken. Achievements of below 40% will
necessitate a retest at a lower level.
